La Hacienda Acedia is a stunning country estate designed by the award winning architect Aubrey Davids set in the beautiful valley of La Acedia between Casares and the Mediterranean. It has been converted into five self-catering Andalucia villas, each of them offering a unique design with rustic charm and comfort.
Set in a magnificent valley, wooded with cork oak alongside breathtaking mountain views. The villas share 2 beautiful spring fed filtered swimming pools, one blazed by sunlight throughout the day and one secluded by trees and natural shade.The mainpool can be heated in the winter months.
West House originally the architects studio, offers space and light with timber beamed ceilings. The villa has 3 levels. the upper floor consisting of a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom, kitchen and living area on the middle level, opening onto a sun terrace with access to the garden. Half a level down is a double bedroom with open plan dressing room, bath and shower areas.
Cortijo is a 2 bedroom villa. Ideal for entertaining, it has a large and spacious living/dining area with wonderful views to the countryside. This opens out to a south facing terrace under a pergola shaded by a grapevine perfect for dining al fresco. The master double bedroom on the ground floor, has a charming open fireplace, opening off the bedroom is a bathroom with separate shower. An attractive stairway leads up to the second double bedroom, where french doors open onto a balcony with stunning views of the valley.
Villa Carmin designed with split levels, sleeps up to 6 people. There are 3 bedrooms both with dressing areas and en suite bathrooms. Both dressing rooms are designed to accommodate an extra single bed.
Entering to the living room and kitchen on the middle level, an external half level staircase leads to a covered south facing terrace, which in turn leads to a private , terraced garden overlooking the communal swimming pool.
La Casita is the ideal villa for a couple with romance in mind. It has a semi open-planned design with timber beamed ceilings. It has it's own private, shaded patio which leads into the living/dining area with cast iron fireplace. The double bedroom opens onto another private south facing patio with gorgeous views. There is a separate dressing room and a bathroom with a spa bath.
Casa Mario is the most rustic of the villas, designed in a semi-open plan style, with charming timber beamed ceilings. The living area has a wood burning stove, and fully equipped kitchen. From the living area three steps lead to the twin bedroom (the beds are pushed together) with en suite bathroom. It has a south facing terrace, under a grapevine covered pergola, an ideal sun trap.
There is horse riding available on your doorstep with local guide Kevin offering rides from half an hour to 4 hours. The estate is situated in stunning countryside below Los Reales mountain and is only a 10 minute drive from the charming white pueblo blanco (white village) of Casares with all of its Andalucian charm. Visit the remains of the Moorish castle at the top of the village and enjoy a drink at one of the villas bars on the way down, and experience the rustic charm of the local Friday market.
The Costa Del Sol is only a 15 minute drive away with all of it's beaches, and Marbella with its famous restaurants and nightlife only a 40 minute drive. Top quality golf courses nearby (including Valderrama Sotogrande and San Roque) are within 30 minutes, and Finca Cortesin, a five star golf and spa resort, which was home to the Volvo Masters Championships last year is just 10 minutes away.
