Casa Amaryllis is a beautiful country villa available for the summer only set in the heart of stunning Andalucian countryside just a few minutes drive from Casares. This lovely 3-bedroom Andalucia villa sleeping 6 people is the ideal rural retreat for any family or group wanting to escape from it all for a few weeks.
The house has a large open plan living room with cosy fireplace and wood burner, and Sky TV, DVD player and a quality stereo system (along with the owner's extensive collection of CDs). This opens up into an adjacent dining area, with a table comfortably seating eight people. Leading off from here is a hall with a simple kitchen equipped with oven, 2 refrigerators, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and all mod cons.
Also on this floor is a large bedroom with double bed and French windows and its own en suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower.
On the upper floor, there are 2 more bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king-size bed and French doors opening onto a small balcony with stunning views over the countryside to the Mediterranean, and on a clear day the mountains in Morocco. It also has it’s own en suite bathroom. The other bedroom with 2 single beds has its own separate bathroom with shower. There is also a mezzanine area over the lounge with a desk (for anyone needing to squeeze in a few hours work!). There is wireless access throughout the house.
Outside from the kitchen or dining room is a lovely patio area, which opens onto an extended south facing terrace with lovely views. There is a wooden dining table and chairs again seating 8, covered with a mature vine to give you ample shade from the summer sun. It is the perfect place for ‘al fresco’ dining throughout the summer, and at 500m above sea level is typically cooler than the coast.
The gentle tinkling of bells can be heard from the terrace throughout the summer as the property below has a small herd of goats complete with Swiss-style cowbells! From the terrace there is a barbecue area, with a beautiful old Thai bench, ideal for watching the sun go down with an ice-cold glass of rosé.
There are extensive steps down through the terraced gardens to the pool area (it should be mentioned that young children will probably need to be supervised). The charming rustic pool is ideal for young children as it is less than 1m deep in the shallow end and barely 2m in the deep end. The secluded pool area is surrounded by olive trees, and has a sturdy oak table with umbrella and chairs ideal for lunch, as well as sun beds for soaking up the sun and relaxing.
Around the house and pool, there is a 4000sq m plot of forest area ideal for children to go off and explore, and to find the swings and hiding places of the family that live here.
The villa is situated up an approx 2km track, but is accessible with any type of car, and is only a 10 minute drive from the picturesque white village of Casares, where the slow Andalucian way of life hasn’t changed in decades. Have a drink and some tapas in one of the bars and watch village life unravel before you.
It is only a 15-minute drive to the coast for beaches and chiringuitos (bar restaurants on the beach). Marbella and Puerto Banus are only 45 minutes away and it is only just over an hours drive to Tarifa and the stunning Atlantic coast with its long, unspoilt golden beaches.
There are lots of good Spanish Ventas (local restaurants) nearby and the renowned Arroyo Hondo and Forge restaurants are only a few minutes from the house.
