Visit the Yeguada Horse Stud Farm
At the old estate of Fuente del Suero ,near Jerez you can find the most important breeding farm of the famous Andalucian Horse , the Cartujano.The farm is located next to the Cartja Monastry, near Jerez de la Frontera and in the valley of the Guadalete River.Since its foundation in the xv century, the Cartuja Monastery became the cornerstone of Jerez horse breeding.
At the farm you can experiance the sheer beauty ,strength and spectacular nature of the Andalucian horse. There are guided tours of the stud farm's breeding facilities,stallion yard, mare barn, harness and carriage museum. Every saturday morning there is a show in the covered dressage arena displaying the horse's skills and qualities.This includes classical dressage as well as the traditional horse handling known as "Cobras " of mares, where a group of mares are tied together and are handled by one trainer mounted on his horse.
